FAMILY owned

Nezam and Tanya Hammad are the owners of this gem tucked away on Broadway. Nezam has been in the restaurant industry since 1998 and started his first restaurant in 2006. Before owning Sophia’s, Nezam owned a restaurant in Salem, and Lake Oswego and Beaverton before that, and downtown Portland prior to that. His love for his country and his wife’s heritage inspires him everyday with his original recipes! The restaurant was named after their daughter; Sophia, whom you’ll see running around the restaurant on regular days.

We believe that our food is a reflection of the people and the culture working the restaurant. Our food is fresh, locally acquired and made daily to order. We’re known for our delicious Pita Bread made to order as well as our secret hot sauce!
